Summary:
Plaintiff worked as a registered nurse at Medical Center for 12
years. Her daily duties included starting I.V.s for patients. As part of her
job, she was called to insert an I.V. into a high risk patient. To do so, she used a catheter manufactured by the defendant. When the catheter unexpectedly malfunctioned, plaintiff was stuck by the needle. Within a month, she developed acute Hepatitis C.
Plaintiff sued the manufacturer of the catheter alleging that it was negligently manufactured.
