Red Light Runner Causes San Jose Crash, Injures Mom and 3 Children
Reckless driving is often at the cause of many car accidents. In San Jose, a 24-year-old motorist failed to yield to a traffic sign and made a right turn against a red light. According to the San Jose Mercury News, the traffic violation resulted in a police pursuit, and ended when the 24-year-old motorist ran a red light and broad-sided another vehicle. A 35-year-old driver and her three children were in the car. The downtown San Jose car crash resulted in six different people being injured – the 24-year-old driver and his passenger, and the 35-year-old driver and her three children.
According to the report, the 35-year-old mother sustained minor to moderate injuries. Her 15-year-old daughter was thrown from their vehicle upon impact, and was listed in critical condition at the time of the article’s release. The woman’s 12-year-old son has been listed in critical but stable condition, while the extent of her 6-year-old son’s injuries is unknown. The negligent motorist and his passenger also sustained minor to moderate injuries.
