Each year, hundreds of young children die and as many as 2,000 are injured by drowning or near-drowning after falling into swimming pools or hot tubs, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Toddler Drowns in Fountain at San Francisco Hotel
A tragic accident occurred at a San Francisco hotel recently when a toddler drowned in a fountain in the hotel’s lobby, according to The San Francisco Examiner.
The 18-month-old boy was at the hotel with his mother, nanny, and his twin sister. While the adults were taking pictures of the hotel’s holiday decorations, he fell into a fountain that was two feet deep. He was reported missing, and a security guard found him eight minutes later floating in the water. Read the rest »
